Lady Eagles Lose 40-32 to Thorndale
Lexington had its bad quarter again, this time it was the second quarter. The Lady Eagles could only muster four points in the second period as Thorndale scored 10. Lexington’s defense came to the front in the third period as they held the Lady Dogs to three-points.
The game was played with a lot of energy by both teams. Thorndale had the size advantage with a 6’4” post girl and a sixfooter. The Lady Eagles in the person of Angel Parks and Emily Bell blocked out, harassed, and kept a hand in the face of the shooter that limited the Thorndale offense. The blocking out was so good, that five-foot tall Mackenzie Brown was the second leading rebounder for Lexington.
Parks was the leading scorer for Lexington putting in 12 points against taller opponents. Brown had nine points on darting drives to the basket as her three-point shot was not on target.
The Lady Eagle JV rocked Thorndale 40-8 in their biggest win of the year. Madison Bexley led the charge with 14 points and Kristin Boettcher added 12 points.
