Florence Takes Eagles in OT

by Mike Organ

Lexington jumped out to a 19-5 start over the Florence Buffalos Friday night. Florence fought back in the second half to tie the game at 53 at the end of regulation. Florence outscored Lexington 19- 6 in the extra three minutes of overtime. The loss leaves Lexington a 2-5 for the first round of district play.

Freshman Eriq Mitchell had his best varsity game as he led the Eagles with 20-points. Sophomore Jason Washington was right behind with 19. Donnie Havard was the third Eagle in double figures with 10-points.

The players were complaining about the officiating but Coach Tucker told them, “We are making more mistakes than the officials. When we cut down out mistakes, we can complain.”
