The members of the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild have received the singular honor of having their 2011 Raffle quilt chosen to be featured on the cover of the 16th edition of “The Quilt Shop Navigator”, a directory of quilt shops in the South as well as listings of national quilting events.

The cover Quilt “Star Steppin” will be given away at the 14th annual

“Best Little Quilt Show in Texas: February 25-26, 2011.

Raffle quilt chairmen, Bobbie Elliott and Kathy Theut, both of Columbus, TX., adapted the pattern “Cowgirl Blues” with permission from the designer, Susan E. Geddes. The 63 blocks were all made by members of the guild, making the quilt truly a group effort. The quilt was machine quilted by member Kristi Grigsby and the binding was sewn by Jo Anne Hill, both ladies from La Grange. Elliott and Theut hand appliqued the star blocks and rope accent on the border.

Raffle tickets may be purchased from any guild member or at the “Best Little Quilt Show in Texas” which will be held at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, La Grange, Texas, February 25 & 26th, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Admission to the show will be $5.00 ( with children 12 & under free).

“The Best Little Quilt Show in Texas” is a judged quilt exhibit. Several vendors will have booths at the show and a sewing machine repair booth will be featured.
