Rogers Rips Lady Eagles 54-41
For the second consecutive game Lexington left its game in the dressing room at halftime. Lexington was down 32-25 at halftime. When the third quarter was mercifully over, Lexington was down 45- 27. The Lady Eagles had scored two points in the third period. They had also thrown the ball away more times than they shot during the period.
Lexington started slowly but the defense held Rogers close. Rogers led 14-8 at the end of the first period. Emily Bell made a short shot and Deja Griffin made a lay up to go with Angel Parks and Mackenzie Brown’s two free throws each.
Lexington held their own in the second quarter due to free throws. Of Lexington’s 17 points in the second period, 12 came on free throws. Brown dropped a trey and Bell made a bank shot.
The third period saw Lexington make only one of eight shots and commit what seemed like a kagillion turnovers, which limited the number of shots they were able to get.
Lexington got back to basketball in the fourth quarter making four of 11 shots and four of eight free throws.
Brown led Lexington with 13 points. Bell had nine points in a losing cause.
