On Friday, January, 14 the Lexington JV headed north to play the Rogers Eagles. With steady improvement over the last couple of games, Lexington was ready to soar.

The game started with a series of fouls that sent #12 Corey Strain to the free throw line making 3 of the first four shots. #40 Kevin Johnson went in for 2, #22 Derek Dane added 2, and #34 London Jacob added 1 before Rogers put in their first bucket of the night. Strainhita3pointerandJohnson went in for 2 more to end the first with Lexington ahead of Rogers 13-2.

The second period had Lexington shut out Rogers and adding four more points, 2 each by Johnson and # 32 Nate Holcomb. Lexington went into the half leading 17-2.

The third started out with Jacob hitting two free throws before Rogers hit their second bucket of the night. #24 Cameron Janda joined in on the scoring melee with 2 and another point by Strain before Rogers hit their groove and put in 5 unanswered points. Lexington’s Jacob went back to the line for 2 more free throws and Rogers added another bucket to end the third with Lexington ahead 26-11.

The final period had Strain add a free throw followed by Janda with 2 before #11 Chris Johnson hit a nice 3 pointer. Rogers went in twice more and then Janda and Strain went in once each. Rogers hit two free throws before Lexington’s Janda ended the scoring for the night with one last free throw. The final score and first win of the season for the Lexington JV Eagles was 39-17 over Rogers.

The JV Eagles had a good outing keeping Rogers to a single bucket in the first half and scoring more than twice as many points as Rogers. Congratulations to the JV Eagles.
