Giddings JV Girls Basketball Team wins two more District games

On Tuesday, January 11, the Giddngs JV Girls defeated Caldwell JV 40-8 Leading the scoring for Giddings was Hanah Michel with 13 points, followed by Jenny Stifflemire with 6, Genisis Holmes, Ashton Allee, and Sarah Owens each had 4 points, Brittany Richard, Brandi Moore, Erica Bonner,Tiara Mack, and Emory Page all scored 2 points. Katy Luedke, Madison Smith, CJ Nolan, and Mikaela Holloway all played well on defense.

Friday’s matchup with District rival Smithville was a hard fought battle with Giddings JV Girls winning 40-32. Giddings trailed by 10 points at the end of the half and 4 points at the close of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Giddings JV Girls out scored Smithville 15-3 to get the victory. MaKayla Alva led all scorers with 22 points, Sarah Owens 8, Brittany Richard 6, Summer Korzekwa, and Kember Kmoch each had 2 points. The Giddings JV Girls next opponent will be Rockdale at home Tuesday.
