Minnie Louise Nimtz
Minnie Louise (nee Mitschke) Nimtz was born on April 20, 1916 in Loebau, Texas to Oswald & Emma (Benad) Mitschke. She was baptized on May 7, 1916 and confirmed on March 24, 1929 both at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau, Texas by Rev. Carl Durow. Minnie was united in marriage to Edwin Nimtz on December 12, 1936 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings by Rev. William Mueller. She was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Oswald & Emma Mitschke; her husband, Edwin Nimtz Sr.; three sisters, Ruby Lee Rost, Leona Knippa and Gertrude Nimtz and two brothers, Charlie Mitschke and Walter Mitschke.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ed & Jan Nimtz Jr. of Boerne, Tx; grandchildren, Brian Nimtz, Eric & Eydie Nimtz and Trey & Amy Nimtz; great grandchildren, Tyler & Claudia Nimtz, Kelsey & Aidan Nimtz and Sydney & Cassidy Nimtz; sisters, Ella Schaefer, Rose Davenport and Mickey Mitschke and a brother, Sonny Mitschke as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Minnie’s family will be forever grateful for the loving care and attention that Minnie’s nieces provided to her.
Funeral services for Minnie Nimtz, 94 of Giddings, were held at10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial followed in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Dime Box, Texas. Visitation was held Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The Nimtz family was present for visitation Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
