Lexington used a strong second half game from Emily Bell to top Lago Vista 39-23 for their second district win Tuesday night. This was Lexington’s second district win in two home games. Lexington is undefeated in district action in Lexington, though Lexington has yet to win on the road.

Lexington and Lago were tied at 16 all at halftime. The Lady Eagles field goal percentage in the first half was 20. Lexington had hit on only four of 20 attempts from the field. The other eight points came from the free throw line.

Bell sank three field goal attempts on three consecutive trips down the court and Angel Parks tossed in another that spelled doom for the Lady Vikings. Lexington upped its field goal percentage from 20 in the first half to 41 in the second half. That makes for quite a difference, tied in the first half and win the second half 23-7.

Bell was the leading scorer with 14 points and the second rebounder with seven. Angel Parks had seven points and eight rebounds to lead the team in caroms collected.

The Eagle JV got blasted by Lago 28-11 in the opening game of the night.
