Lady Eagles Fall to Jarrell

Lexington remained winless on the road in District 27-AA play with a 44-36 loss to Jarrell Friday night. Jarrell opened up a ninepoint lead in the first half and Lexington could never recover. Lexington and Jarrell battled evenly in the second half with Lexington owning a one-point advantage 16-15 for the final sixteen minutes.

Emily Bell had her second good game in a row as she led the Lady Eagles with 15 points. Deja Griffin dropped in Lexington’s only three-point shot in the third quarter. The Lady Eagles could not hit any more outside shots during the game to bring the defense out and open up the inside game more for Bell and Angel Parks.

With the victory Jarrell is now tied for the district lead with a 4- 1 record and Lexington is in a dogfight for the remaining playoff spots with five teams standing at 3-2 or 2-3.
