Early Successes for Giddings JV Girls

The Giddings JV Girls Basketball Team beat LaGrange 56-20 to open District play

The JV Girls rolled over LaGrange on Friday night to an easy victory with a full court press and easy shots off of the fast break. Leading all scorers was MaKayla Alva with 23 points, followed by Sara Owens 14, Kember Kmoch 6, Brittany Richard and Erica Bonner each had 4 points, Jenny Stifflemire and Tiara Mack each added 2 points to round out the scoring.

On Tuesday, the Giddings JV Girls defeated Bellville 51-26. The leading scorer for the Young Lady Buffs was Madison Smith with 10 points, Sarah Owens 9, Brittany Richard and Ashton Allee each had 6 points, Hanna Michel, Kember Kmoch, and Jenny Stifflemire all with 4 points, Erica Bonner and Genisis Holmes both had 3 points while C. J. Nolan had 2 points to complete the scoring. Katy Luedke, Cheyenne Boney-Ray, Brandi Moore, and Tiara Mack all played well on defense.

In the last game of the Holidays, the Giddings JV Girls traveled to Burnet and were defeated 40-56. MaKayla Alva was the leading scorer for Giddings with 10 points, Brittany Richard 9, Sara Owens 5, Summer Korzwekwa and Madison Smith each had 4 points, Jenny Stifflemire, Tanya Moreno, and Tiara Mack all had 2 points, Kember Kmoch and Erica Bonner all added 1 point to complete the scoring. Katy Luedke and Genisis Holmes did a great job on defense.The next game for the Giddings JV Girls will be Tuesday at Caldwell.
