Lexington lost to Academy in a tightly played game Friday afternoon. Lexington and Academy both held the lead in the fourth quarter. The teams were tied at the end of the third at 38. Lexington had a little trouble at the end with turnovers.

Both teams shot three-pointers in the final stanza trading threes twice as the quarter progressed.

Academy jumped out to a lead early using the press to cause Lexington turnovers. The Bees opened a nine-point lead winning the opening stanza 14-5.

Lexington made some adjustments to combat the pressure of the zone-press and actually topped the Bees in the second quarter 15-14.

After halftime Lexington routed Academy in the third with some good passing, blocking out, and accurate shooting. Lexington erased the rest of the lead with an 18-point quarter.

In the first quarter, Zach Lay had all the Eagle points with a trey and a lay up.

Jason Washington ended up leading Lexington with 15 points for the game.
