Eagle JV Falls to Academy

by Mark Strain

Friday monring December 31st, New Year’s Eve while most prepared for the night’s festivities, the Lexington JV basketball team prepared for their first game of the shortened season by traveling to Academy to take on the Bees. Coming off a long football season and over the Christmas break allowed the High School JV team to field only 7 players for their first game. Only having had one real practice they stepped out on to the court, The Seven: #11 Chris Johnson, #12 Corey Strain, #22 Derek Dane, #24 Cameron Janda, #30 Marcus Cassassa, #32 Nate Holcomb and #34 London Jacob.

Academy controlled the opening tip off and every phase of the game after that. The young Lexington Eagles were full of heart and hustle but could not match the game experience and bench depth of the JV Bees. Period by period the score went 17-2, 28-7, 40-10 and finally 50-20 all Acedemy.
