Sherrill, Robbins Named All- State

by Mike Organ

Chance Sherrill Chance Sherrill Linebacker Chance Sherrill and defensive lineman Anthony Robbins were named to the Associated Press Class 2A allstate team. The entire team was released Tuesday. Running back Xavier Ward, wide receiver Josh Murray, and defensive back Chace Sherrill were given honorable mention.

Chance Sherrill has led the very aggressive Lexington defense, calling signals, and being a coach on the field. Chance has recorded nearly 150 tackles, 34 for losses. Chance recorded five sacks and has forced five fumbles with his hard hitting.

Robbins was quite a find for Lexington coaches. He joined the athletic program as a junior after moving to Lexington from Georgetown. He has been a solid anchor on the defensive line. Robbins has made 87 tackles this season along with six sacks of the quarterback. Robbins also forced three fumbles.

Ward is a hard running, slashing back that often inspires the rest of the team with his effort when he has the ball. He is the Eagles leading rusher, scorer, and a very special defensive player when called on.

Anthony Robbins Anthony Robbins Murray is one of the most exciting players in Central Texas when the Eagles get him the ball in some open space. His specialty, the hitch pass, has a chance to go all the way everytime he gets the ball.

Chace Sherrill plays strong safety for the Eagles. He is second on the team in tackles behind twin Chance. Chace also fills in on offense and does the punting, rugby style, for the Eagles.
