Marijuana and Weapon Bust

On December 10, 2010, Officer Whorton conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 77 in Lexington. Officer Whorton observed the vehicle with wrong tail lights displaying.

Officer Whorton, after stopping the vehicle, smelled marijuana coming from within the vehicle and summoned Officer Sherer, who was also working traffic on Highway 77. The driver and vehicle were searched and a usable amount of marijuana was discovered. The driver was then arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon and for possession of marijuana.
