State Bound X 2!!!!

State Bound X 2!!!! The Lexington Eagles football team is State Bound! A state appearance of any nature is a rare commodity to be relished. So what are the chances that you would have TWO State Bound atheletes on the same day, from the same family participating in two different sports? Corey and Courtney Strain are the children of Mark and Tracy Strain, the grandchildren of Marilyn Pool, Bill Strain and Roy and Diane Simpson. Corey is a 9th grader at Lexington High School and is part of the historic Lexington Eagle march to the state game this weekend. Courtney is a 6th grader at Lexington Middle School. She is also a member of the Lee County Angels, a girls traveling soccer team based in Giddings. The Lee County Angels were a first team finish in the regular season CASA league. That honor sent them to the Western Regional Soccer Tournament held in Williamson County December 4th and 5th. There they placed second and earned a spot at State in the South Texas Youth Soccer Association in Spring, Texas held this past weekend. What are the odds that two kids from the same family would be awarded with State honors essentially on the same day in the same location. Corey, a Lexington JV football player and the Lexington Eagle Football Team won the right to play for state this past Saturday by defeating Refugio in Cy-Fair and Courtney and the Lee County Angels were playing for State on the same day in Spring just 12 miles away from the Lexington football game. The Lee County Angels placed 4th in the State tournament, and the Lexington Eagles.... we will see on Saturday. Congratulations to Corey and Courtney Strain.
