In the fall of 2001, she had the privilege of seeing the Houston Astrodome the very first time when the La Grange Leopards and Giddings Buffaloes played to secure a spot for the State Championship Game. And, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Aggie football teams were always number one to Martha.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, Herman and wife Lorine, Albert and wife Ora Lee and Louis; four sisters; Amelia Schroeder and husband Otto, Minnie Michalk and husband Edgar, Edna Harzke and husband Dudgeon and Alene Lerche and husband Charlie.
