Community Pep Rally for Eagles

Lexington ISD will be hosting a Community-Wide Pep Rally Friday, December 10, at 7 p.m. on the Square. The Eagles are just one win away from competing in the Class 2A, Division II, State Championship and the district wants for the community to come out and show their Eagle Pride.

This week’s pep rally is one way for the Eagle fan base to show their support for the team as it heads to the State Semi-Final game this Saturday, which will be played at the Berry Center in Cypress outside of Houston at 6 p.m.

Lexington, rated #2 in the state, will face the #1 ranked Refugio Bobcats Saturday night. Both teams are undefeated this year. One of Lexington’s team mottos is “Making History One Team at a Time” and this year’s Eagles have been making history all season.

While the Leader’s sports writer, Mike Organ, gives directions to Berry Center in one of his articles found in today’s paper, two “fan buses” will be provided to carry fans to the game Saturday night. The seats on the fan buses are available by reservation only and there are a limited number of them.

To reserve a seat on the bus, you must call the Lexington High School office and make your reservation by noon on Friday, December 10, with Donna Lee, LHS Secretary. There is a $9 charge per person riding, which will cover the cost of fuel. The buses will leave by 2:30 Saturday afternoon and riders are asked to be at the High School parking lot outside of the gym no later than 2:15 to board.

“Last one out of town – Turn out the lights!”
