County Loses Great Civic Leader
Glenn Marburger, a lifelong resident of Lee County, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, November 27, 2010. He had been an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln all his life.
He was also a member of the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation Board of Directors, the Lee County Historical Society, the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department, a former director of the West Yegua Wildlife Management Association, served on the Bluebonnet Electric Nominating Committee and was named the Honorary Mayor of Lincoln.
Joe Cooper, General Manager of the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District said, “Glenn was one of the founding directors of the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District, serving 11 years on the Board. He was a strong representative for Lee County and had great knowledge of the county’s history and a devout passion for its future. The District and community has lost a true friend.”
Glenn was married to Eudoris Urban. Funeral services for Glenn were held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln. A complete obituary can be found in today’s paper.
