Marlin Ben Wiederhold

Mr. Wiederhold passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Country Care Plex in Giddings.

Marlin Ben Wiederhold was born on October 9, 1922 in Deanville, Texas to Robert Wiederhold Sr. & Alma (Klagmann) Wiederhold. He was baptized on June 20, 1923 and confirmed on April 22, 1943 both at St. John Lutheran Church in Dime Box. On March 11, 1978, Marlin was united in marriage to Ruth (Ruzicka) Hoelscher also at St. John Lutheran Church in Dime Box. He was retired from Lee County where he had been employed in Precinct 4 as a roadhand. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dime Box and enjoyed gardening.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Albert, Leroy and Ervin and a sister, Viola Kissman.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Wiederhold of Dime Box; five step children, Edward & Karen Hoelscher of Lexington, Raymond & Stephanie Hoelscher of San Augustine, Agnes Maddox of Alabama, Lawrence and Arlene Hoelscher of Yorktown and Patsy & Ken Osborn; nine step grandchildren, Gary Hoelscher of Yorktown, Tiffany, Crystal and Hunter Hoelscher of San Augustine, Brittany Shelly & her husband, Nick of Bellville, Candice Joyce of Giddings, Katie Hoelscher of Lexington and Ashley Osborn; brothers and sisters, Laverne & Leroy Zwernemann of Georgetown, Joyce & Fred Zwernemann of Dime Box, Wilburn Wiederhold of Giddings, Edgar Wiederhold of Giddings, J.C. & Dorothy Wiederhold of Dime Box and Robert & Alice Wiederhold of Caldwell; two sister-in-laws, Evelyn Wiederhold of Caldwell and Mildred Wiederhold of Dime Box as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Marlin Wiederhold, 88 of Dime Box, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church in Dime Box with Rev. Ed Truelson officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family was present for visitation Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
