Lee County Commissioner’s Approve Adoption Awareness Month

In the Regular Meeting of the Lee County Commissioner’s Court on November 22,2010 the Court approved designating November as Adoption Awareness Month in order to highlight the benefits of adoption. This is in line with a National Presidential Proclamation begun in 1984 declaring November as National Adoption Awareness Month in order to bring attention to the need for adoptive parents for the thousands of children waiting for permanent families.

The Court, after considerable discussion, awarded bids for both gravel and paving topping rock. The issue being discussed concerned a late bid received for a local supplier that was received by the county Clerk after the deadline.

The Court also decided to put up for lease the space previously housing the Health and Human Services Department. This space amounts to some 3,487 square feet of space located in the County Annex Building in Giddings.
