Lexington High School presented their Annual Veterans Day ceremony at Eagle Stadium last Thursday morning. The bleachers were full of students and area residents and the field provided the backdrop for area veterans and their wives. Organizing the event were Connie Ward, Barbara Mostyn and other staff support from LISD. The guest speakers were husband and wife William Polly and Jennifer Tosa, both active Army and new to Lexington. The Lexington High school band performed Armed Forces on Parade and several students sang patriotic songs and gave inspirational talks during the event. The Lexington American Legion presented a Twenty-One Gun Salute before Veronica Richardson played Taps and Superintendent Frances McArthur gave closing remarks. Pictures from the event can be found in today’s paper. PHOTO BY JOELY RODGERS.
