Lexington EDC Business Grant Program

The Lexington Economic Development Corporation has increased their Business Grant Program from $500 to $1,000 and they have changed it from a matching funds program to a reimbursement program for qualifying business.

Businesses located within the city limits of Lexington are eligible to apply. The business must occupy the building or location submitted for consideration in the grant application. Grant funds are to only be used for exterior elements of the business location visible to the general public.

Projects must be consistent with promoting a positive impact for the Lexington business community. They must be permanent, not seasonal or temporary, to be eligible for grant consideration.

Project must be in compliance with the City of Lexington Code of Ordinances.

Businesses are expected to submit complete plans and project description with their application. The project must be completed within four months of grant approval and will be paid upon completion of the project.

Grants are limited to one per business in a fiscal year.

Eligible projects may include signage, landscaping, exterior “facelifts” and lighting. Not eligible would be interior projects, structural, roofs or roof repairs.
