Giddings Travels to Navasota

by Mike Organ

Giddings travels to Navasota Friday with first place at stake in District 23-AAA. If the Buffs win, they will be assured of at least a three-way tie for first place with Caldwell and Navasota. A Giddings win and a Caldwell loss would make Giddings the first place Division II representative. If Giddings and Caldwell both win, the Hornets would be the first place DII team and Giddings second. If Giddings loses, Caldwell will be first, win or lose, and Giddings second.

Navasota is undefeated in district action and Giddings only one loss. Lee Fedora took Rogers to the state finals and is the Navasota coach. Navasota is the largest school in the district and has as much talent as any school in the districts. The Rattlers return five offensive and four defensive starters from last season’s playoff team.
