Lexington Middle School Student Council
Lexington Middle School Student Council attended the District 14 TASC (Texas Association of Student Councils) Fall Convention at Rice Consolidated High School in Altair on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Mrs. Tammy Alford, advisor, said, “Lexington Middle School was well represented by 27 outstanding student council members. I was very proud to say these students were from Lexington. The members listened to guest speakers and attended breakout sessions geared towards middle school student council topics. Our members brought back many great ideas to implement here at LMS.” LMS Student Council was the recipient of the TASC Outstanding Student Council Award in April 2010. They are going for a repeat and are working to win additional awards in Pride and Patriotism, Energy and Environment, and Drugs, Alcohol, Health, and Safety Projects. The council looks forward to continuing past projects as well as starting new ones learned at the conference. Next on the LMS Student Council’s agenda in early November is to attend the TASC State Conference in Austin. Members will be joining more than 1000 Texas middle level student council leaders and advisors at the two day conference held at the Doubletree and Crowne Plaza Hotels. They will attend sessions on leadership and student council issues as well as listening to distinguished guest speakers.
