The Roy Cottage Moves To The Depot Complex

The Giddings Area Chamber of Commerce has completed moving from the Roy Cottage located across from the Lee County Courthouse to the Depot Complex. The Chamber will now be housed in the Red Depot which shares office space with the Giddings Economic Development Corporation. The Chamber and the EDC have joined forces to first of all save money, but to ultimately be a one stop shop for visitors and businesses alike. We will have the Yellow Depot open for visitors to the Rural Texas Tourism Center and Union Station Transportation Museum. We have travel and tourism information about “All Things Rural” in the Yellow Depot. Our office also is the place to pick up a phone book, map or information about local businesses. We will have our official Open House on November 19th from 10AM-5PM in the Depot Complex. We will have tours of the facilities and refreshments. We will have tours all weekend as we prepare for the Christmas Merry Marketplace Arts & Crafts Show which is the November 21st, Sunday before Thanksgiving. The Friends of the Depot-Giddings, Texas will have Holiday Tamales for sale also. We will have arts & crafts vendors from all over the State showcasing their wares. At 5:30PM we will welcome Santa to the Gazebo for our Santa on the Square Celebration with a Lighted Christmas Parade. The community is invited to join in the celebration. Call the Chamber for details at 979-542- 3455.
