Giddings Hosts Smithville

by Mike Organ

The Giddings Buffaloes are 1-1 in district play. They will host the winless, but dangerous Smithville Tigers Friday night. Smithville has lost every game thus far this season but they have scored 41- points twice in losses. Smithville lost to Wharton 42-41 and to Caldwell 59-41 — the same Caldwell team that held Giddings to 35-points last week.

Smithville always gets up to play Giddings no matter what their record is at the time. The Tiger offense is much better now than it was at the beginning of the season when Lexington bombed Smithville 61-0. Ronnie said, “Knowing the youth of America is suffering from Juvenile Diabetes gave me the want to help. What better way to show my concern than by raising money to find a cure.” Not only did Ronnie win the title of “Big Man on Campus” for the 2010 year, he was also named BMOC ‘Crowd Favorite’ at the 2010 Homecoming bonfire. Ronnie would like to thank all who donated and encourage everyone to support the fight against Juvenile Diabetes.

Ronnie is a 2007 graduate of Lexington High School. He is the son of Ronnie and Clara Willrich, Sr. of Lexington and the grandson of Mayor Robert and Gladys Willrich, Sr., also of Lexington.
