NW Lee County 4- H Service Project
On Saturday, October 9th members of Northwest Lee County 4-H worked hard to help make the Blue Volunteer Fire Department’s annual fundraiser a success. The boys and girls came in the morning to clean and set up for the evening festivities. They returned to eat dinner then helped showcase and deliver auction items to lucky bidders.
In addition to the BBQ and auction, the following items were raffled: 2 nights in Fredericksburg B&B w/carriage ride (donated by the Wild Bunch) – won by Stephanie Sherrill; Marlin XS7 with scope (donated by Blackland Gunworks and BVFD) – won by David Krenek; Buck’s Deer Feeder (donated by Buck’s Deer Feeders and BVFD) – won by David Sherrill; Turquoise & sterling necklace (donated by Linda & Johnny Kidd) – won by Ruben Campos; Hildebrandt Meat Pack #4 (donated by BVFD) – won by Sharon Schindler; ½ hour carriage ride in Fredericksburg (donated by Stardust Carriage Service) – won by Nolan Hutson; 48qt ice chest (donated by Guy’s Gravel and Sand) – won by Doris Eldridge; Hildebrandt Meat Pack #1 (donated by Blue Volunteer Fire Department) – won by Guy Hutson.
The fundraiser brought in over $8,000, which will be used to purchase new equipment. Mark your calendars now for the second Saturday in October, 2011.
