Sports Thoughts

by Mike Organ

I will go out on a limb and say the Texas Rangers will not make the ALCS. When they had a lead in the 7th inning and allowed it to escape, that was their season.

Texas has its job cut out trying to stop Nebraska. If the Cornhuskers have the opportunity, I feel they will run the score as high as they possibly can.

A&M made a huge improvement from Okla St. to Arkansas. If they can continue to improve, they may have the successes that Ags have been looking for “next year” this year.

Jessica Parish had a very successful college opening last weekend. She batted .400 with three singles, a double, and two RBI. She is off to a great start.

Amanda Dowdy and her Texas Tech teammates will be in Austin Saturday for their annual match with Texas. Amanda is leading the team in kills, blocks, and digs. She was a pre-season all Big XII pick.

Jimmy Terrell continues to be among the team leaders in tackles for the McMurry Indians. He had six tackles and a pass breakup in their win over Sul Ross in Alpine last Saturday.
