From the Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Frances M. McArthur, PhD
Lexington ISD

We are very pleased that Lexington continues to receive a Superior Achievement Rating by the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas. The Superior Achievement rating is the highest rating awarded. This rating system was authorized by the state legislature in 2001 and it is officially known as School FIRST. Schools FIRST was developed by the Texas Education Agency in consultation with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, the Texas Business & Education council, The Texas Association of School Business Officials, and other organizations. A school district is rated on twenty-two indicators relating to financial integrity, financial strength, cost management, debt management, cash management, and budgetary planning. The ratings are based on student, staff, budgetary, and financial data reported through the Public Education Information Management System. I congratulate our trustees, for their leadership in these results. I am extremely proud of Mrs. Kathy Dube, Mrs Karen Hoelsher and Mrs. Janet Brazelton for the great job they have done in handling the finances of the district in an accurate, efficient, and effective manner.
