Olga Marie Brinkman Sara Frances Lewis

February 8, 1935 - October 5, 2010 June 26, 1929 - October 6, 2010

Mrs. Brinkman passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, Texas.

Olga Marie Kubena Brinkman was born on February 8, 1935 in Dime Box, Texas to William & Albina (Balcar) Kubena. She graduated from Dime Box High School and received an Associates Degree from Blinn College in Brenham, Texas. She was united in marriage to Stonewall “Buster” Brinkman on January 10, 2004 at the Dime Box Brethren Church. She was a retired secretary having been employed in the Horticultural Department at Texas A & M University. Olga was a member of the Dime Box Brethren Church and the Dime Box Brethren Christian Sisters. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Kubena and a brother-in-law, Jim Dobos.

She is survived by her husband, Buster Brinkman of Bryan; two daughters, Susan Nimtz of College Station and Sharla & Kendal Beason of Pearland; two step-children, Keith & Roberta Brinkman of Dime Box and Dawn & Jim Freeman of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Chase Ahrendt of Lexington and Kaylee Beason of Pearland; three step grandchildren, Robert Brinkman of North Richland Hills, Elizabeth Brinkman of Wataga and Andrew Hayes-Stoker of Chicago; sister, Betty Dobos of Dime Box; sister-in-law, Lois Kubena of Lexington as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Olga Brinkman, 75 of Bryan, Texas and formerly of Dime Box, Texas were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Dime Box Brethren Church in Dime Box, Texas with Rev. Jim Heckman officiating. Burial followed in the Hranice Cemetery in Dime Box. Visitation was held Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family was present for visitation Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers were Chase Ahrendt, Robert Brinkman, Matt Reiter, Glen Balcar, Keith Kubena and Billy Kubena.

Memorials may be made to the Dime Box Brethren Church or the Dime Box Brethren Christian Sisters.

Sara Frances Lewis, 81 of Houston and formerly of Giddings, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Vitas Hospice at Memorial Herman Memorial City Hospital in Houston.

Sara Frances McCabe Lewis was born on June 26, 1929 in Dallas, Texas to Byrum & Sarah (James) McCabe. She was united in marriage to Eddie W. Lewis on July 4, 1953 in Houston and was a retired teacher with Giddings I.S.D. She enjoyed her students, friends and worshiping with her fellow church members at the Giddings Church of Christ. Sara also enjoyed traveling, music and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Sara is survived by her daughter, Sarah & Greg Morehead of Houston; two other children; four grandchildren, Gregory Morehead of Houston, Katie & Jeff Jakob of Hockley, Jeffrey Morehead in the U.S. Air Force and Jared Hashaw of Louis; one great grandson, Matthew Hashaw of Louis; dear friend, Doris Pieratt of La Grange as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Memorials may be made to the Giddings Church of Christ.

In keeping with Sara’s wishes, no public funeral services are planned.
