Chocolate Lovers Festival Best Chocolate Cake/Dessert Contest

The Lexington Chamber of Commerce is looking for some great chocolate cakes and great chocolate desserts!

Lauren Petrowski, KTBC FOX7 “Foodie” Lauren Petrowski, KTBC FOX7 “Foodie” Every year, the Chamber of Commerce holds a Best Chocolate Cake/Dessert Contest during the Annual Chocolate Lovers Festival. This year is no different. There are two categories for entries: Youth (13 and Under) and Adult (ages 14 and up). Professional Chefs from the Texas Chefs Association will serve as Judges, along with this year’s Special Guest Judge, Lauren Petrowski, a reporter at KTBC - FOX7 in Austin. Following, you will find the details for this year’s contest as well as the registration form to enter. . Two categories – Youth 13-and-under (entry fee $3.00) and Adults (ages 14 and over – entry fee $6.00) Savings Bond and gift certificate prizes Judging by Texas Chefs Association . Cakes/Desserts must be primarily chocolate, and quantity enough for the judging sample and for silent auction (in other words, not just one brownie) . Judging on taste, ingredients, appearance . Cakes/Desserts can be completely from scratch or use prepared ingredients . Cakes/Desserts are due between 10 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, and will be viewed and available for silent auction until 1:30 p.m. Judging will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and winners announced at 2:30 p.m. . Cakes/Desserts should be delivered to the Masonic Lodge hall . Cakes/Desserts must be accompanied by registration form, or form can be turned in advance . Registration forms are available at the Chamber or can be mailed or emailed to you . Cakes/Desserts will be auctioned; proceeds from auction go to Lexington Chamber of Commerce
