The 4th Annual Pink Ribbon Affair
The 2011 Creative Cups for the Cause art bra calendar features Candace Thornton on the cover along with another survivor. Within the calendar 18 Breast Cancer survivors are featured this year. Another Lexington survivor, Barbara Mostyn, is in this
year’s calendar. The calendars will be available on the night of October 12th at the Pink Ribbon Affair. After the event, the calendars will be available at the LCACRC office in Giddings, Trendy P’s in Lexington, All Around the Block Quilt Shop and
Ashley’s Attic in Giddings.
The 4th Annual Pink Ribbon Affair will be held to benefit Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center to help cancer survivors and their families and to educate youth about cancer prevention in Lee and surrounding counties. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this event will be held on Tuesday, October 12th. It will be held from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Giddings American Legion Hall on Highway 77 South. The event is open to the general public and will celebrate the strength and courage of breast cancer survivors.
A Creative Cups for the Cause contest and display will be held in addition to musical entertainment and special presentations by survivors and a unique local group of men entitled the ‘Bra’-ffalo Village People. Also, honorariums and memorials for breast cancer survivors can be made through $5 donations. A candle lighting ceremony will honor these persons. Live and silent auction items will be available for bidding. Admission to the event will be a free-will monetary donation to LCACRC. There will be drawings for door prizes. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. The 2011 Creative Cups for the Cause art bra calendar will also be sold.
