Lexington Faces Rosebud-Lott

by Mike Organ

The undefeated Lexington Eagles travel to Travis, Texas to play the Rosebud-Lott Cougars Friday night. The Cougars are 2-2 on the season. RL opened the season with losses to McGregor and Clifton. They righted the ship with wins over Bosqueville 32-24 and Academy 28-7. Lexington defeated Academy 33-0 earlier in the season.

The Cougars return seven offensive and seven defensive starters from last season’s 5-6 playoff team. Offensively running back DeAndre Thompson has 4.5 speed. Size on the offensive line is present in Neil Rabroker (6’3”, 233) and Jared Hoelscher (6’3”, 245). The Cougars are lacking a seasoned quarterback to run their offense. Defensively linebacker Shawn Bell leads the Fall County crew. Bell and safety Hunter Neumann were first team alldistrict last year. The Cougar defense has given up quite a few points in the last two years.

Directions to game: Take US 77 north all the way to Travis. Turn left on CR 3005 to the visitors side of the field.
