Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser
A fundraising event is being planned to benefit Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center to help cancer survivors and their families and to educate youth about cancer prevention in Lee and surrounding counties. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this event will be held on Tuesday, October 12th. The 4th Annual Pink Ribbon Affair will be held from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Giddings American Legion Hall. The event is open to the general public and will celebrate the strength and courage of breast cancer survivors. An art bra contest and display will be held in addition to musical entertainment and special presentations by survivors and co-survivors. Also, honorariums and memorials for breast cancer survivors can be made through $5.00 donations. A candle lighting ceremony will honor these persons. Live and silent auction items will be available for bidding. Admission to the event will be a free-will monetary donation to LCACRC. There will be drawings for door prizes. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center, a program within the Combined Community Action, is seeking business sponsors at various donation levels listed below. Advertising for the The Pink Ribbon Affair will include a flyer with event information.
