The Giddings Public Library has received many educational books found in the non-fiction section of the library. Putting On The Old Folk’s Clothes has traditional and original songs for children such as Frog Went A-Courting, Goodbye Smile, Old Rattler, and others. Bellobration is a DVD about the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Scientology: An Overview by L. Ron Hubbard tells about the only new major religion that came out in the 20th century. Some other books are What I Wish They Would Have Taught Me In Sunday School About Science, The Bible, And God by Philip Singerman is a must read for all parents! Of all of the tough questions children can ask, questions about faith top the list. This author takes us along on his fascinating four year journey of study that starts at the beginning of time, explores the complicated relationship between man and God and discovers the path laid out for society of any era to follow in order to lead hopeful, righteous lives. Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff And It’s All Small Stuff by Richard Carlson, P.H.D. shows us how to stop creating our own emergencies and start having the fun, peace and love we deserve.
1,000 Dollars And An Idea by Sam Wyly tells what it takes to create, grow, and build successful companies. Never Give In by Senator Arlen Specter tells the story of a cancer survivor. Another book is Devil’s Rope by Gerald McCathern which will thrill you about the exploits of Colonel Cole’s grandson, Cole Armstrong and Quanah Parker’s son, Jim Bold Eagle, as they battle rustlers, wire cutters, and outlaws, in this fast moving tale of stampedes, blizzards, and prairie fires. Our Family History by Elaine Northrup Loyd is found in our Genealogy section. It gives the history of the Northrup family, the McKaslie family, the Perkins family, the Clark family, and the Loyd family.
