Arnold Marvin Krause
Arnold passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 5:15 in the morning after another heart attack.
Arnold Marvin Krause, son of the late Carl and Marie Mitschke Krause was born on October 14, 1926 in Serbin, Lee County, Texas. He was baptized into the Christian Faith on October 24, 1926 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Serbin by Pastor Herman Schmidt. He publicly confirmed his faith on March 17, 1940 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Serbin with Pastor Herman Schmidt. His confirmation verse was Psalm 37 verse 37. :Hospice Brazos Valley - Brenham BranchHospice Brazos Valley - Brenham Branch. “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.”
He was united in Holy Matrimony with Ruby Adele Schulze on January 4, 1948 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Serbin by Pastor Paul C. Eifert. This union was blessed with three children.
He was a farmer and worked at various feed mills, Burkett Feed in LaGrange and Emmrich Mill and Nutrena Mill in Giddings. It is ironic that later his grandsons were given the task of dismantling Emmrich Mill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Marie Mitschke Krause, two sisters who died in infancy, three brothers, Herbert and Laura Krause, Albert and Beatrice Krause and Alfred and Hildegard Krause and two sisters Carl and Ella Zoch and Richard and Annie Lehmann, and a brother-in-law Bud Panas.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Ruby Krause of Serbin, a son Harold and Paula Krause of Cypress, daughter, Elaine Krause of Giddings, daughter LaVerne and Ted Tonn of Warda. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Rev. Jason and Angela Krause and their children, Katelyn and Nathan of Bountiful, Utah, Gretchen and John McCullough of Homer, Alaska, Josh Tonn of Northglenn, Colorado, Caleb Tonn of College Station and Aaron Tonn of Warda, a brother-in-law Norbert Arnold and Helen Ruth Schulze of Livingston, three sister-in-laws, Lillian Naskrent of Houston, Sidonia Hardie of Tomball and Leona Panas of Damon as well as numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and acquaintances.
Funeral Services for Arnold M. Krause, 83 were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, Texas with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings, The Krause family was present for visitation Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Arnold was a resident of the Country CarePlex Nursing Home for the past year and a half where he made new friends from residents and staff that became as family. We thank Country CarePlex, Hospice and B & M Ambulance for their care and attention.
