The High School Lexington JV football team met the Bees of Academy on Thursday night September the 9th. From the start to the finish of the game it was as evenly matched a game as one could have. The advances made by Academy were repelled by interceptions and penalties. Both teams went scoreless through the first three quarters to set up the fourth quarter. In the fourth Academy was able to score first and chose to kick an extra point that they made, putting the score at 7-0 Academy. With time running out Lexington answered with a touchdown of their own when Eriq Mitchell ran 15 yards around the left side. The score was 7-6 Academy and Lexington contemplated their choices. Do you attempt a kick for an extra point and the tie, or do you go for two and the win. With the decision made, quarterback Jacob Snyder lined up took the snap...and...and...was tackled in the back field. The game ended with Lexington losing to Academy 7-6. The JV boys played very well, fought hard and the improvement from their first game to this one was measurable.
