Brenham Man Gets 10 Years Plus

Two others sentenced in District Court

Derrick Wayne Lewis, 41 from Brenham, was sentenced last week in the 21st District Court of Lee County with the Honorable Judge Terry L. Flenniken presiding. Lewis was given ten years for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine, 4 – 200 grams), which he must serve in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility.

Lewis was also given six months confinement in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. In addition to his sentencing, he was ordered to pay a total of $608 in court costs, $800 for a court appointed attorney, a $50 drug court fee, $68 for DNA testing, $100 to a Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee and $140 restitution.

Also sentenced on September 7 was Eric Jermaine Colvin, 32 from Brenham, for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. He was ordered to spend 104 days confinement in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center and to pay a $1,000 fine, $304 in court costs, a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee and a $34 DNA Testing fee.

Pauline Uvonne Minton, 47 of Lincoln, was found guilty in District Court of gambling promotion. She was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, $304 for a court appointed attorney, a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee and a $34 DNA testing fee.
