Czech Roots and Fruitful Memories
The Texas Czech Genealogical Society announces details for its upcoming Czech Roots and Fruitful Memories event to be held September 25, 2010 at the Caldwell Civic/Visitor Center.
A day filled with exciting and informative speakers, entertainment, surprises, and a delicious lunch begins with registration, coffee, juice and kolaches at 8 a.m. Speakers and presentations for the day include: Patrick Janis, How to Perform Online Opava Archive Research of Baptismal, Marriage and Death Records; Hanka Vernon, Special Czech Foods for Special Czech Occasions; Aditi Worcester, Creating Video Biographies without Being Intimidated by Technology; Scott Brookshire, Looking Back to the Year 1900; Merrill Adamcik, Importance of Preserving Veteran Stories and John Tomecek, Chronicling the History of Czechs in Texas.
Combined with our famous Research Bookroom, a Christmas tree displaying over 50 legend and symbol Christmas ornaments and a live auction under the direction of auctioneer, Harvey Johnson, means the day will be filled with an opportunity to gain genealogical knowledge and be entertaining as well. A Texas Style Czech Christ Eve Luncheon of fried catfish, potato salad, cole slaw, hush puppies, assorted desserts, tea and coffee will be served and is included in the registration fee.
