Sports Thoughts

by Mike Organ

The game with Blanco Friday night was a great game. This was a battle between two elite Class 2A teams. Both teams could still be playing football in December.

Giddings found a top-notch running back in Royal’s Brandon Williams. 259 yards is quite a night, especially against a quality team like Giddings.

Memory Lane: From the October 4, 1962 edition of the Bartlett Trib.-Lexington ripped Bartlett 21-0. Tommy Jackson rushed for 120 yards and scored the final TD in the win. Jack Ruthven scored the first two TDs and Keith Brown toed all three PATs. Lexington outrushed Bartlett 276 to 70 in the game.
