We got to see an amazing football game Saturday night. Tommy Jackson and I went to the Westlake- Lake Travis game in Darrell Royal-Memorial stadium with about 30,000 other football fans. We certainly got our money’s worth. Westlake moved out to a 15-3 lead before Lake Travis came roaring back in the second half to win 32-21. It was the 47th straight win for LT.
On Friday night, the Eagle offense was strong against Smithville as well as the defense. If the team can keep up their opening performance, this will be “the year.”
The Lady Eagles are getting on a roll, just as district play will begin. Hopefully they can maintain the momentum the rest of the year.
Memory Lane-In the game against Bartlett in last week’s rambling. Bartlett beat Lexington 40-20. After Bartlett’s first score Keith Brown returned the kick off 75 yards for a score. Robert Patschke was stopped on the PAT run. After another Bartlett score, the Bulldogs recovered the kick off in the end zone for another score. Patschke scored on a 41-yard pass from Robert Jensen. Patschke also ran the PAT. Later in the game Patschke blasted 4-yards for the final score.
