A motorist reported that a white Cadillac or Buick with only one working headlight passed him on Hwy 21 heading westbound at a high rate of speed. A few minutes later the vehicle had run off the road and was in the ditch. Deputy Aderhold was dispatched to the scene and reported there was approx 100 feet of fence damage at 3201 W Hwy 21. A report was written.
Deputy Aderhold was dispatched to Hwy 77 just south of Hwy 21 after a caller reported that cows were out on the roadway.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a complainant on CR 449 in Lincoln stating that she had an argument with her brother and he had pushed her off the couch and then had pushed her into the ice box. Deputy Aderhold responded and a subject was arrested and charged with assault family violence.
Chief Deputy Kothmann searched CR 118 for a white older model Dodge van with a tan stripe that was driving up and down the road very slowly. The license plate was given to the deputies for further investigation.
A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on CR 106. The vehicle was described as a white Ford truck occupied by four males. Deputy Allen searched the area but advised the vehicle had left the area prior to his arrival. A close patrol of the area is in effect.
The Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting that her boyfriend had two knives and was walking around the house and was threatening to kill himself. Deputy Lapham and Deputy Allen assisted Lexington officers on the call. The subject was transported to MHMR and later transported to Austin State Hospital.
A complainant reported that her 18 year old foster child was missing from their residence on CR 232. She advised that the child is mentally impaired to that of a 3 year old. She had been playing in the front yard with the other children and had been gone for approx one hour. Sheriff Meyer, Chief Deputy Kothmann, Giddings Fire Dept and Giddings Police officers were dispatched to assist in the search. Sheriff Meyer contacted DPS for assistance with a helicopter and had also contacted Milam County for a search dog. At approx 1pm the foster mother called back and advised that her daughter had been located at the MHMR building.
Deputy Lapham and Deputy Allen were dispatched to CR 4331 in Dime Box to an assault call. The assault had occurred on a previous date but no charges were filed. A report was taken and charges were filed.
Sheriff Meyer responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 220. The vehicle was described as a 2 door white truck pulled onto private property and was driving around. The license plate was given to the Sheriff. It was determined that the vehicle belonged to the water company.

Deputy Liles was dispatched to put up cows that were out on FM 1624 near CR 322. The cows were removed from the road.
A subject came into the Sheriff’s Office and requested to speak to someone regarding some problems she was having with her juvenile daughter. Deputy Lapham spoke to the complainant.
August 18, 2010
A motorist reported a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 77 South. Deputy Allen assisted with traffic control until a Trooper could arrive on scene.
Deputy Carvin was dispatched to Hwy 290 West to check out a truck that was reported to be blocking a driveway. The vehicle was located and the driver had a wrecker on the way.
A complainant reported that she had custody of her grandson and her daughter showed up and was causing problems. They had asked her to leave their residence but she refused. Deputy Lapham and Deputy Allen responded to the call and advised the situation had been resolved for now.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a parent who reported that his juvenile daughter had left their residence without permission. Deputy Easley spoke to the parents who advised him that their daughter was already on probation. The parents called back after 1am and reported that their daughter had returned and they would be in contact with her probation officer as soon as possible.
August 19, 2010
Deputy Easley was dispatched to CR 309 after a caller reported cows out on the roadway. The cows were run off the road and into a pasture.
Off duty Deputy York called and reported that he had put up two cows that were out on FM 1624 just East of CR 329.
A caller reported a reckless driver. The vehicle description was given to Deputy Lapham. The vehicle was last seen heading northbound on Hwy 77.
The Sheriff’s Office received numerous 9-1-1 hang up calls from a residence on FM 180. Deputy Lapham and Deputy Durrenberger were dispatched and spoke to several people at the residence. It was determined that kids had been playing on the phone.
While on routine patrol Deputy Lapham noticed several large tree limbs in the roadway on CR 127. He stopped and removed them.
August 20, 2010
A motorist reported that her husband would not pull over and let her and her children out of his vehicle. They were attempting to work out the marital problems but it became obvious to her that it would not work out so she wanted out of the vehicle. Deputy Liles was dispatched to Hwy 21 to assist. The subjects had stopped and the parties were separated and allowed to go their separate ways.
Deputy Carvin spoke to a motorist who reported that someone possibly shot out one of his windows on his vehicle. It was determined that a rock flew up and broke the windshield.
Several motorists reported that a sofa was in the outside westbound lane of Hwy 21 between FM 1624 and Hwy 77. Deputy Lapham responded and advised someone had already removed it from the road.
Deputy Lapham and Deputy Allen responded to a call on CR 309. A caller reported that there were approx 7-8 people on his property all dressed in black and were digging through his trash. He advised every time he got close to them they would run off. The call was unfounded and the caller had some mental issues or was probably intoxicated or both.
A resident reported a suspicious vehicle on CR 208 down by the creek. Deputy Ray located the vehicle and spoke to the occupants of the vehicle. They had stopped after spotting their dog that had been lost for approx 1 month and were taking it home.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a female on PR 8004 in Dime Box advising that she was given temporary custody of a child by CPS and the mother of the child was at her house trying to take the child and was refusing to leave. Deputy Lapham, Deputy Ray and Deputy Lee responded to the scene. The mother of the child had already left the scene but was located on PR 4309 and she was advised to stay away from the residence.
A caller reported that she is on FM 1624 locked upstairs in her residence for her safety. She believes she hears noises as if someone is trying gain entry into her house and she is scared. Deputy Allen, Deputy Lapham and Deputy Ray responded to the scene and checked the entire perimeter. Everything appeared okay.

Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Carvin were dispatched to a residence on Wilson Boyd Lane in Lexington after a caller reported that someone had stolen his trailer. A report was taken and investigation continues on this case.
A resident spoke to Deputy Ray about a possible identity theft case. She had some checks that had been written on her account that she did not write. A report was taken and the case is currently under investigation.
A motorist reported a semi-truck that was swerving all over the roadway on Hwy 290 West heading eastbound. Deputy Durrenberger located the truck at the 100 block of N. Main and spoke to the driver who was paying too much attention to his GPS and not the roadway. The driver was warned and released.
A resident on CR B requested welfare check on his neighbor who had been involved in an accident in Williamson County. Deputy Allen advised that the subject is okay and will contact his neighbor.
Deputy Carvin and Deputy Durrenberger assisted with funeral escort from the Bateman Center to FM 180.
While on patrol Deputy Allen conducted a walk through at the fairgrounds and noticed some damage to some of the lattice work at the pavilion. He spoke to the president of the renaissance fair and she advised she was aware of it and was supposed to take care of it. Her information was taken in case it was needed at a later date.

A caller reported to Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Liles that someone had shot a hole through his window that is located on the side of his house. A report was taken and investigation continues on the case.
Deputy Aderhold assisted with an escort at a local store on Hwy 21. The clerk called and requested a deputy to stand by.
A female caller spoke to Deputy Aderhold about some threats she had received from another female. She is afraid this woman will come after her for no reason.
