Judy Baklik was born December 13, 1931 in Beckville, Texas to Major House and Lillian Aldorah (Plunkett) Williams. She was raised in Carthage. Judy became an Air Force bride in Hawaii during the Korean Conflict.
On February 8, 1952, she and Jim Bob Baklik were married in Lexington. To this union one child was born.
Judy had worked in Houston for Schlumberger as their secretary. She was a member of Tanglewood Community Center, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and American Legion Auxiliary in Lexington.
Judy passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan, reaching the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bob on March 30, 2005; grandson, Shane Michael Baklik; her parents and a sister, Helen Soap.
Surviving are her son, Steve Baklik, Sr. and wife Stephanie of Lexington; sister, Marie Ferguson and husband Charles of Alvin; brother, Edward Williams and wife Rebecca of Joaquin, Texas; grandsons, Steve J. Baklik, Jr. and wife Candace of Carthage, Seth Baklik of Houston, Keith Bordelon of Austin, Shauna Baklik of Monroe, Louisiana and great grandson, Asher Baklik of Dumas, Texas.
Funeral services for Judy Baklik will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Tanglewood Baptist Church in Tanglewood, Texas. Burial to follow in the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington with Rev. David Atwood officiating.
Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
