LISD Staff Celebrates High Ratings and Kick Off the New School Year
All of the Lexington ISD staff convened for a Welcome Back Breakfast on Monday, August 16th. The atmosphere in the Lexington Elementary Cafeteria was upbeat as they celebrated past accomplishments and looked to the future.
“Lexington ISD trustees have been clear about the direction they want our schools to go,” stated incoming superintendent, Frances McArthur. “We want much more for our children than merely passing the state and federal standards. We have been charged with increasing the academic rigor of existing courses and continuing to expand dual credit course offerings. Our Lexington students will become better prepared to enter higher education whether it be, university, or technical college. There is no doubt this can be done because we have an outstanding staff, great kids, and a community that truly supports our schools.”
Lexington High School cheerleaders cheered the staff on as they sang and welcomed new staff to the Lexington ISD family. “It is exciting to see such a wonderful group of administrators, teachers, and staff members from every level of our organization energized and eager to make a difference for kids“, affirmed Dr. McArthur.
Lexington students returned to school on Monday, August 23rd.
