Thomas U. Anderson Jr.
Mr. Anderson passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Home in Lexington, Texas. Thomas U. Anderson, Jr. was born on August 16, 1925 in Dallas, Texas., to Thomas U. and Mary Wilma Bell Anderson. He was a graduate of Adamson High School in Oak Cliff, Class of 1943. Soon after graduation, he entered the military service. He served in the Coast Guard and was assigned to the USS Beaufort as a radioman. The Beaufort was part of the support team for the D-Day European invasion, operating in the North Atlantic. On October 26,1945 Tom Married a Dallasite, Betty Tyler, who had traveled from Dallas to Boston, Mass., the home port of the USS Beaufort. Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas and worked at Texas Instruments as an engineer until his retirement. After retiring, he and Betty lived in Lexington, Texas where they were active members of the Church of Christ in Blue, Texas.
Survivors include William Tyler Anderson and wife Deborah J. Besch of Austin, Texas and Kevin Bradford Anderson and his wife Debi Anderson of Justin, Texas, his granddaughter Elizabeth J. Anderson of Austin, Texas, one brother, James Anderson of Lancaster, Texas and two sisters, Martha Hill of Chandler, Texas and Mary Dunham of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Anderson Sr. and Mary Wilma Bell Anderson, his wife Betty Tyler Anderson, Son Michael SeJon Anderson and one sister, Ermagene Deason of Chandler, Texas.
Graveside services for Thomas U. Anderson Jr., 84 of Lexington, were held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas.
