Mostly routine business was conducted by the Lee County Commissioners’ Court on Monday, July 26, 2010. The most notable of these was the approval of several Interlocal Agreements regarding the integration of radio communications among the various Governmental Agencies in the Central Texas Area. As most are aware, there has been a concerted effort to provide integrated communications among agencies, especially first responders for several years. These efforts are about to be put in place in the next few months. The Interlocal Agreements are one of the last steps in this process. These provide the infrastructure for coordinating all parts of the process.
In other business, the Court has had no response to moving the house located at 282 South Grimes in Giddings, so no action was taken on this item.
The Court also approved the renewal for FY 2010/2011 of the contract covering the State Case Registry/Local Customer Service (SCR/LCS) with the Attorney General’s office concerning Child Support payments. This is normally renewed annually.
The Court also approved a letter agreement that authorizes Lee County to use the Emergency Notification System provided by the Capital Area Council of Governments. This is a system to notify residents of serious emergency conditions such as sudden flooding, hazardous materials situations, and the like.
