This summer the FFA officer team went to a leadership training camp near Hearne and participated in many activities with other area schools. While in attendance they set goals to achieve this year, sat through hands on sessions dealing with character building, and at the end of camp competed in games that tested their physical and mental strengths as a team. They were visited by Allison Granger, the president of Texas FFA and were taught how to “survive as a chapter”. The group bonded and really came together through the happy times of the dance and the shame of temporarily losing their coconut. They also learned an important lesson: “Be a legend; leave a legacy”- presented by Peyton Craig. In July they will be heading off again to Corpus Christi for the FFA State Convention. There they will vote on the new State Officer team, Talent competition, and other business that might be brought up during the convention. They will also meet and greet other FFA members from all over Texas.
