Giddings Police Report

June 23, 2010

At approximately 9:20 p.m., Sgt. Shane Ray was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Chambers Street in reference to a possible burglary of a residence. The case is being investigated.

June 24, 2010

At approximately 6:21 a.m., Officer Greg Cummings was on patrol along with Detective Lehmann. They were dispatched to 801 North Grimes Street in reference to a stolen trailer and a stolen lawn mower. When they arrived, they met with Joe Flores, who stated that a trailer, carrying a riding lawn mower, had been unhooked from their vehicle and stolen.

June 25, 2010

At approximately 3:34 a.m., Sgt. Shane Ray was dispatched to the 1400 block of E. Washington Street in reference to a collision. A vehicle being driven by Olivia Gonzales had struck a parked vehicle. Gonzales was arrested for driving while intoxicated, Class B. No injuries were reported in the crash.

June 26, 2010

At approximately 5:39 p.m., Sgt. Farah Ramsey spoke to a complainant in the lobby of the Giddings Police Department in reference to a stolen bike. The bike was stolen from the complainant’s garage. This burglary is under investigation.

June 27, 2010

At approximately 2:53 a.m., Officer D.A. Griffin initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring the 100 block of East Hwy. 290 (Austin Street), westbound. The back passenger in the vehicle, identified as Ricardo Moroni Herrera of Giddings, was subsequently placed under arrest for Failure to Identify, after providing false personal information to Officer Griffin. Herrera was also charged with No Seatbelt and Open Container in a vehicle. He was taken to the Lee County Sheriff ’s Office and released. No other information.

At approximately 8:49 p.m., Officer D.A. Griffin initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring in the 200 block of East Hwy. 290 (Austin Street), westbound. The driver, Bethany Ellen Weigl of Austin, was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While License Invalid/Suspended, Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Carrying a Weapon and No Insurance. She was taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and released. No other information.
