New Pastor

Meet Rev. Lance Richards, the new Pastor at Lexington and Blue United Methodist Churches. He graduated from Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina in May with a Master of Divinity degree. During his time in seminary he served two churches, Wesley Memorial and Macon United Methodist Churches. Before leaving for North Carolina, Lance served as Director of College Ministries and Contemporary Worship Leader at A&M United Methodist Church in College Station for three years. His home church growing up was First United Methodist Church in Bay City. Lance is a graduate of Texas A&M University, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science and a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education. He was a student at A&M when the bonfire tragedy occured. His call to ministry came, in part, from helping other students during this difficult time. His wife, Rachel, is also a graduate of Texas A&M University and taught Third Grade while living in North Carolina. She will begin work at UT in Austin in the fall on her Master’s Degree in School Counseling. Lance and Rachel enjoy music and both sing and play the guitar. PHOTO BY LINDA KIDD. Meet Rev.
