Eagles Predicted to Win District

by Mike Organ

With the bible of high school football, Texas Football, on the news stands, Lexington Eagles’ fans can relish in the fact that their Big Green Machine has been selected to win the district this year. Lexington, Rogers, and Franklin are selected as the three teams to represent 2A District 12-II in the state playoffs. Lexington has established reputation for fielding a quality football team each season under Coach Jason Holcomb. This season is no exception, but fans must remember that injuries can present unsolvable problems in schools the size of Lexington, although the Eagles have more depth than most teams.

Five of the seven schools in the new district made the playoffs last season. Those five teams included Franklin, Lexington, Rogers, Rosebud Lott, and Thorndale. All were in the state playoffs. Bruceville- Eddy and Jarrell did not have any post season games.

All the teams look to be improved this season as the coaches work their off-season programs to develop athletes for all sports.
